Career description:

A concierge assists hotel guests to ensure an enjoyable stay by assisting them with booking dining and entertainment reservations and arranging shuttle or taxi services. A concierge will also offer recommendations on things to do in the area, places to eat, and other suggestions as requested.

What it’s like:

Common duties:

  • Greet guests at the front desk and be ready make suggestions for local dining and entertainment
  • Make reservations for guests at local eating or entertainment establishments, arranging for taxi or shuttle services upon request 
  • Assist in the facilitation of onsite events, such as weddings or corporate events
  • Assist in answering phones, scheduling wake-up calls and taking reservations as needed
  • Respond to guest inquiries
  • Assist with processing and verification of reservation payments as needed
  • Communicate with maintenance and housekeeping departments to ensure reliability and cleanliness of hotel amenities
  • Providing information about rooms and hotel amenities
  • Assist in answering calls from hotel guests and documenting the details of each call for later reference as needed
  • Promote hotel features and services to guests
